What Does a VP of Digital Marketing Do? 

Even though the job title may sound like it has a lot to do with technology. It is important to note that a VP of digital marketing must be good at both technical and creative aspects of the job position. 

So it is not enough to know how to use technology or software or to be good at researching, but he or she must also be able to come up with creative solutions on how to best implement these digital platforms in promoting products or services. 

Here are some of the tasks that are common with this job position:

Creating digital marketing campaigns.

He should be an expert in creating and leading marketing campaigns online. Moreover, as a leader, he will be tracking and monitoring the campaign’s progress and results. Thus, he must know the different methods of campaigns in the digital platforms.

Creating and maintaining online and offline marketing plans. 

A digital marketer is also in charge of creating and maintaining marketing plans for his company. These include the digital and non-digital aspects of the plan. He will be in charge of monitoring the performance of these plans and seeing that they are working according to their goals.

Budgeting and allocating resources and funds. 

As a VP, he is also in charge of planning how much budget will be allotted for each marketing campaign, as well as how much budget will be allocated for staff salaries. Furthermore, he is also tasked with finding strategies to allocate funds on other projects such as new technology or software that the company needs to effectively operate.

Managing the social media platforms of the company. 

He is responsible for creating a social media presence for the business or brand that he or she has been hired by. Moreover, he also oversees the day-to-day operations of all social media platforms that his firm has been using to connect to their customers, such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram, etc. 

In managing these platforms, he must make sure that they are complying with his company’s policies regarding privacy and data protection among others. In addition to creating a social media presence for his brand or company, this position also makes sure that all updates are communicated clearly and effectively by posting interesting but relevant content on their social media channels.
