Being a remote team is not easy. It requires major effort, commitment, and consistency to have a remote team management system that works. Here is a quick list of reasons why it is important:

This should be one of your biggest motivators for managing your remote team well. You are saving money on rent and office expenses, which means you can put more money into the actual development of your product. The only reason why you are in business is to create a great product and make money from it. If you want to make money, then you need to put in the effort to manage your remote team effectively.

2. Your Team Members Will Feel More Valued

The quality of work that your developers, designers, and other project members produce will increase when they feel valued on your team. You can do this by having regular one-on-one video calls with each member of your team every week at the same time. This way they know what they need to accomplish in the next week and can plan accordingly. It also lets them know that you care about their success and want to help them achieve their goals as part of the team.

3. You Can Attract Better Talent by Being Able to Offer Remote Work Opportunities

This should be obvious: if you’re able to offer remote work opportunities, you will be able to attract better talent than companies that only have physical office spaces available. 4. You Can Conduct More Effective One-on-One Meetings with Team Members

If you’re managing an in-house team, then you probably already know that conducting one-on-one meetings is a great way for team members to feel more valued. 

However, if you’re managing a remote team then conducting one-on-one meetings is even more effective because the face time you get with each team member is so much more valuable. After all, it’s not easy to get. 

The fact that you’re able to have a video call with each of your employees every week gives them a chance to see your face, hear your voice, and feel that sense of connection that comes from being able to see the person they’re working with with with for.

5. You Will Be More Effective at Managing Your Remote Team

You will be able to manage your remote team effectively when you have a system in place for doing so. This does not mean that this system has to be complex or overly complicated – it just means that you need to create a system where your team knows what is expected of them, understands how they will be held accountable, and knows how they can succeed as part of the team. 

When they know what they should be doing, how they can do it well, and how they will be measured doing it well, then they are more likely to succeed within their roles and ultimately the company as a whole will benefit from this.
