Digital Media Marketing

Having a well-thought digital media marketing plan can help you deliver effective marketing campaigns. Not to mention the surge of competition existing in the market today. You need to stand out.

Here are some guides on how to create a digital media marketing plan.

What is a Digital Media Marketing Plan?

A digital marketing plan, in general, is a marketing plan that uses digital media and technology. Creating a digital media marketing plan can be tricky. As you can’t just simply create an effective digital media marketing plan. It requires effort, time, and dedication.

Steps in Creating an Effective Digital Media Marketing Plan

The following are the steps on how to create an effective digital media marketing plan.

1. Decide on the target audience you want to reach

Your target audience is the group of people who will be interested in your products or services. It’s easier if you have a certain target market for your business. If not, you can also decide on the different types of customers who are interested in your product or service.

For example, if you sell beauty products, you can decide which age bracket fits your beauty products best, whether it’s for younger women or women in their 30s and 40s, etc.

2. Do some research on your target audience

This step is very important in planning your marketing campaign because it’s based on this research that you’ll create content for your campaign.

A good marketer knows his market very well! So make sure to tap all sources of information about what your target audience likes and wants to read about, what they do online every day, what type of device they use most often, etc.

3. Create a content strategy

This involves deciding what kind of content that you will create to engage with your audience and drive them to engage with your product or service. Your content strategy will depend on the type of product or service that you’re selling and the target audience that you want to reach out to.

4. Create an actionable social media strategy

This means deciding how to reach out to your target market through social media platforms like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, etc. Get tips on creating an actionable social media strategy here.

5. Create a content calendar

This involves creating a list of all the activities that will be included in your campaign like when to create videos, when to share posts on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter (or whichever platform that you choose), when to do online promotions or discounts/coupons/specials/promotions/trending topics related with what’s happening at that time (like any holiday season), etc.

6. Create an editorial calendar

This is a calendar where you list all the articles and blog posts that you will create and publish. You can do this by using a free editorial calendar template.

7. Do a Pro-forma budget

This is where you determine how much money to spend on creating your campaign and its marketing materials like creating blog posts, social media posts, etc. It’s also good to estimate the amount of money that you will be investing in for your advertising campaign or any other expenses that you may incur in creating your digital marketing campaign. When creating a Pro-forma budget, make sure to include some padding for additional expenses or any emergency costs that may occur.

8. Create an action plan

Once you have created an effective digital media marketing plan, it’s time to create an action plan on how to execute your campaign.
